PRRS

Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus

Oxine can be a valuable management tool in the control ans elimination of PRRS from swine confinements. Misting an activated solution is expected to reduce both airborne PRRS virus and virus on contaminated surfaces. Given it's wide spectrum of activity, producers can significantly reduce exposure of animals to numerous pathogens, especially those associated with respiratory disease.

A critical study conducted at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames. Iowa showed Oxine to be 100% virucidal against PRRS virus when used at concentration of 312 ppm over a contact time of 60 seconds.

In Clinical Field Trials

Oxine used in drinking water, as a fog, and as a surface disinfectant has shown effective in controlling the following:

PRRS

Ileitis

Cloftridum Pefringens

Swine Dysentery

E.coli

Salmonella

Rhinitis
